Your vehicle’s heating and cooling systems play an important role in keeping your engine operating at the proper temperature. When these systems are not working correctly, your engine may overheat, use more fuel, or fail to run as efficiently and cleanly as it should. If an engine remains too hot for too long, it can lead to serious and costly damage.
Preventive maintenance is essential for keeping your heating and cooling systems working properly. At C & J Auto Services, our automotive professionals can check your radiator’s coolant level, inspect the cooling system for leaks, and examine important components such as the thermostat, hoses, and other related parts. Identifying problems early can help prevent unexpected breakdowns and expensive repairs.

FAQs
What’s included in a typical oil change?
A typical oil change includes removing the old oil, replacing the oil filter, and refilling the engine with fresh oil. The amount of oil required varies by vehicle, so always refer to your owner’s manual for the correct specifications.
I’m leaking oil! What should I do?
If you notice oil spots or puddles under your vehicle, don’t ignore them. Driving with an oil leak can lead to severe engine damage or even complete engine failure. If the leak appears significant, have your vehicle towed to a trusted repair shop. Our ASE-Certified Automotive Professionals can accurately detect and diagnose even small oil leaks using advanced dye diagnostic technology.
How often do I really need an oil change?
How often you should change your oil depends on your vehicle and the type of oil it uses. Most modern vehicles can go between 5,000 and 7,000 miles with conventional or synthetic blend oil, while full synthetic oil may last up to 10,000 miles. Always consult your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s recommendations. You can also visit C & J Auto Services, where our Certified Automotive Professionals can help determine the best oil change schedule for your vehicle.
What’s the difference between conventional, synthetic blend, and full synthetic oil?
Synthetic oil is specially engineered to provide superior protection against heat, cold, and engine wear, helping your engine perform better and extending the time between oil changes. Conventional oil is generally more affordable but requires more frequent maintenance. Not sure which option is best for your vehicle? Visit C & J Auto Services, and our Certified Automotive Professionals will help you choose the right oil for your vehicle and driving needs.
What happens if I wait too long for an oil change?
Old oil breaks down over time, leading to sludge and buildup that rob your engine of the lubrication, cooling, and protection it needs. Waiting too long between oil changes can lower fuel efficiency, increase engine wear, and lead to costly repairs. If you’re worried or can’t remember the last time you had an oil change, bring your vehicle in and we’ll get you back on track.
Why do oil change prices vary so much?
Oil change prices vary based on oil quality (conventional vs. full synthetic), filter quality, how much oil your vehicle requires (some trucks take up to 10 quarts), and labor costs. At VIP, we’re upfront about all of it. Our Good, Better, Best pricing makes it easy to understand your options, and we’ll always let you know if your vehicle requires extra labor or additional quarts of oil before we get started.
